Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM

D.Approval of Minutes of November 7, 2011: Lion Totsie read the minutes and President George requested a motion.
Motion: Lion Ann made a motion that the minutes be approved as presented. Lion Doris seconded and the motion carried.
E.Treasurer’s Report (50-50 Raffle Report): Lion Colleen presented a written report indicating an available balance of $698 in the admin account and approximately $1,700 in the raffle account. The building account balance of $21,000 has not been moved into a CD as of yet, but Lions’ Colleen and Totsie will get this accomplished. Lion Colleen reported that the Club cleared about $600 on the 50-50 raffle. This was a pretty successful raffle, selling tickets for just $2 each. President George requested a motion to accept the report.
Motion: Lion Ann made a motion that the treasurer’s report be accepted as presented.

Lion Dan seconded and the motion carried.
Lion Dan had suggested at a previous meeting that, at each meeting, attending Lions put$1 into a “good of the order” fund, to be placed in the Tail Twister account. This meeting netted $8.00 for that fund.F.Old Business1. Leadership Academy Report (Dana Mock): Lion Dana was not present, so this item will be addressed at the next meeting.
2. Festival of Lights Fund raiser (Dan Beck): Lion Dan reported that the Moose Lodge has given us use of their kitchen and dining area for this fund raiser. It was confirmed that Dan, Colleen, John Sloan, Doris, and Phil, will be there to help. Lion Totsie will pick up needed supplies in Fairbanks and get them to Dan. (Ham & eggs) A price of$8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 was determined.
Lion George commented that members who are handling food should take the DEC foodhandler’s course to get certified. He and Lion Ann have taken this in the past but their certifications have expired. Lion Totsie will contact DEC to see when the next course if being offered.
G.
New Business1. Donation for Student Congressional Training (Doris Fales): Lion Doris explained that we donated $200 to this last year which is utilized for a class at the High School.
Motion: Lion Dan made a motion that the Lions donate $200 to this program again this year. Lion Phil seconded.
Following discussion about the possibility of another organization, such as Moose or Pioneers taking this on, the following motion was offered.
Motion: Lion Dan made a motion that the previous motion be tabled. Lion Doris seconded. The motion will be tabled until the March meeting.
Lion Totsie will contact Pam Krepel at the high school to get more information and encourage them to contact other groups.
2. 2012-13 Officers and Nominating Committee: President George requested that Lion Dan chair this committee again this year. Committee members will be Dan and Lion Bob. It was noted that recommendations need to be presented at the March meeting for first vote. Final vote will be at the April meeting.

Next Meeting - February – March?: It was decided that the next meeting will be

held on March 5 at the Delta Senior Lounge. This will be a potluck and our District Governor will be attending for her official visit this year. Lion Doris will be making arrangements for the meeting.
Other Information:
Lion George announced that Aurora Borealis Lions Eyeglass Recycling & Vision Center will be holding their annual Open House on February 17. Everyone is invited to attend.Please RSVP no later than February 10. (907-488-6797)
The District 49B Cabinet meeting will be held at this location on February 18.
Lion Doris reported that the Relay For Life group is holding their “kick-off” event this Saturday, February 4 at the Community Center.
On this subject, Lion Ann commented that she was disappointed to learn how much of the money donated to this organization is designated for administrative and travel costs. She will get more information and report further on this subject.
Lion Totsie reported that the Annual MD-49 Convention will be held in Valdez this year.Any members interested in attending should contact Totsie as soon as possible. She will forward a registration form and hotel information to all members by e-mail.I.Adjournment: Lion Doris made a motion to adjourn. Lion Dan seconded and President George called the meeting officially adjourned at 8:03 PM.
